At the Capitol

Much of the work I do representing House District 45 is at our state's capitol in Oklahoma City. From the first Monday of February to the end of May I am at the Capitol at least four days a week. My activities include committee meetings, reviewing legislation, debating and voting on bills and meeting with constituents and other concerned citizens.

Committee Assignments
I serve as a member of several legislative committees. These committees initiate inquiries, ascertain facts regarding legislation, and perform many oversight tasks that the legislature are required to undertake.

Committees are where much of work of the legislature takes place. Bills are reviewed, amendments offered, policies explored, citizens, lobbyists and agencies heard, disagreements explored, and solutions offered.

I serve on the following House committees:

Appropriations and Budget Committee
Health and Human Services Committee
Higher Education Committee
Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee

I also have been appointed as a member of the following committees:

The Joint Legislative Oversight Committee for Oklahoma Long Term Care
The Joint Committee on Federal Funds

Please contact me if you have any questions about these committees or the matters that they are considering.
